Mourinho wants £100,000-a-week goal machine despite Lukaku’s presence

Manchester United are still keen on signing Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Danny Rose as Jose Mourinho looks to further bolster his squad. We have long been linked with both these Englishmen and Tutto Mercato Web claims that we are still interested in signing Kane and Rose.

Our gaffer is keen on improving our squad strength as we try hard for the Premier League title. Manchester City have run away with the title this time but we cannot afford to let them continue like this in the future.

Signing someone like Harry Kane would go a long way in helping us stop City’s domination. Kane, who currently earns £100,000-a-week, has been in stunning form for the past few seasons and has grown big in stature. He is now one of the best in the world and finished as 2017’s top goalscorer, above Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is being suggested that Mourinho could be eyeing Kane as a long-term successor of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The giant Swede is not getting younger and would eventually need to be replaced. Although I’d be happy to see us sign Harry Kane, I doubt if Kane would choose to move to a club that already has Lukaku playing up front.

Danny Rose

Signing Harry Kane wouldn’t be a feasible move as Lukaku would be put under pressure. It is always good to have competition for places but it is never advisable to have two multi-million pound strikers fighting each other for a place in the team. However, if Mourinho has other plans of playing them both together, then that would be some move!

On the other hand, Danny Rose would rather arrive as a much-needed reinforcement. We lack quality in the left-back area and Ashley Young has been used as a makeshift full-back. Young has been brilliant though, and I am sure we fans can have no complaints. However, he is not a long-term solution and signing Danny Rose is the right thing to do.

Manchester United have competition for the signature of these players, as Real Madrid are interested in Kane and Chelsea are interested in Rose. Nevertheless, if United come calling, there’s always a chance of English players choosing Old Trafford over other destinations.
