Another home game and another frustrating draw, a story we have constantly seen since Jose Mourinho took over. This time it was Southampton who came to spoil the party and truth be told, we didn’t really have a lot going for us too as referee Craig Pawson failed to give us a penalty in the first half with Maya Yoshida being the guilty party.
This was our third consecutive draw and saw us lose the 2nd place in the table to Chelsea while Liverpool are now only three points behind us. There were more worries for us as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku are injured and could miss the next two games at least.
In fact, Zlatan is out for close to a month as his knee injury has flared up, again, and this leaves us well short when it comes to quality attackers. Nevertheless, we should have been way ahead of Southampton when it came to goals but just could not do much in the final third.
There was some controversy as Paul Pogba tapped in a shot from Nemanja Matic, with the Southampton keeper beaten, but the goal was chalked off for offside.
This could have been the winner but things just are not going right for us and this was shown in the reactions from the fans on Twitter.
“It’s unlucky.”

One good thing about being average is that I can now walk my dog on a Saturday night without worrying that I’m going to miss #MUFC on MOTD. We are usually towards the end now. Every cloud, and all that 😄

Support the lads no matter what, even if we can’t pass, cross or shoot 😂. Going here still gives me the same feeling as when I was a kid. #Willneverdie #mufc 🔴🔴🔴 pic.twitter.com/tt1rWP7MuA

This team has NO ENERGY or PASSION, we’ve lost our IDENTITY BORING BORING Man United. If the BUS isn’t parked we will play side ways passes till you’re BLUE in the face, but don’t worry if all else fails with 10minutes to play we’ll HOOF it into the box & hope for the best #MUFC

Think José has to sort a lot out but a shame we didn’t see a reaction from some of the players fighting for their futures! Expect more! #MatchdayMac #MUFC #MUNSOU

United’s front four at Everton could be Martial, Rashford, Lingard and Mata. Without even taking into account the stop-gap striker, there are two positions there that Mourinho wants/needs to improve. #mufc

People can disagree/ agree I don’t really care. But I will tweet what I want and as I always say it’s my opinion. I’m not calling for the managers head. I’m not saying he is solely the reason None of them can do the basics . But something has to change Because this isn’t us #mufc

Pogba needs to stop being played in a flat midfield two, get him in a three in his best position and let him flourish. Far too deep today! #MatchdayMac #MUFC #MUNSOU pic.twitter.com/lw78JKjNY7

Maybe it’s cos
-I’ve had so much joy following #MUFC
-I see bigger picture at club
-As a dad I realise there’s more to life
-Footy=time spent with loved ones
-Defence mechanism
Whatever reason I still enjoy it, my patient/lighthearted approach works. Miserable is only alternative— Jonathan Shrager (@JonathanShrager) December 30, 2017
