Manchester United Are Already Preparing A £33m Bid To Sign Bordeaux Wonderkid But They Are Holding Out For £50m

Manchester United have opened talks with Bordeaux over a move for Brazilian forward Malcom, according to reports. Boss Jose Mourinho has been desperate to add some attacking width in the winter transfer window, with the left-footed star being a prime candidate.

The Daily Mail are reporting that talks between United and Bordeaux regarding Malcom have already started. The English giants are also ready in loaning the Brazilian back to the French club to continue his development. Bordeaux ambitiously want United to spend more than £50million for Malcom. That is a fee United are not prepared to pay and they are believed to be committed to spending in the region of £33m.

However, the Red Devils could face competition from Arsenal, who have also been keeping tabs on the starlet. Malcom has scored 7 times in 18 league games this season following his move from Corinthians last year.

Mourinho is set to be handed a massive £80m kitty next month in order to make a second-half push. Now, 20-year-old Malcom appears to be his No.1 target- with his attacking versatility being the key.

It is claimed that the United manager, who is keen to strengthen his squad, views Malcom as one of the hottest young prospects in Europe. The Brazilian’s genuine ability to play out wide is his biggest trait with the Bordeaux star set to be the subject of more interest from United.

There is also reportedly a gentleman’s agreement that Malcom can leave in the summer and there is no release clause. Mourinho, who led United to EFL Cup and Europa League victories last term, is said to believe Malcom can develop into a Premier League star and hence wants to sign him when the January transfer window opens.

We are now 12 points behind Manchester City and if the Cityzens beat Newcastle United today, the gap could become 15. Hence, it is very important for Mourinho to spend in January and bring two new players to add freshness to the squad.

Malcom is indeed a very gifted player and should be a fantastic player to have in the United squad. His versatility and direct-running is an asset and that seems to have caught our gaffer’s eyes.
