Mourinho To Reshuffle His Midfield And Defence – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Man United Line-up To Face Bournemouth

Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Bournemouth In The Premier League

Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 2-1 defeat in the Manchester derby on Sunday that saw Manchester City extend their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.

With the victory at Old Trafford, Pep Guardiola’s team broke United’s 40-game unbeaten record at home and became the first team to win 14 successive English top-flight games in a single season.

But Jose Mourinho’s boys will get a chance to move on from the derby when they face Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Team News

Jose Mourinho will miss the services of Eric Bailly, Michael Carrick and probably Marouane Fellaini. However, he welcomed Phil Jones against City and the England international was only fit to take a place on the bench. Paul Pogba will miss the game as he continues to serve his three-game ban following the red card against Arsenal. Ashley Young, meanwhile, is a caution away from accumulating 5 yellow cards.

Possible Manchester United XI To Face Bournemouth

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

De Gea has been a pillar at the back for United and will start on Wednesday.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

As reliable as ever, Valencia had a quiet game against City but the skipper will look to be at his best against the Cherries.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling was poor in the Manchester derby but will get the nod ahead of Rojo.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

He’s had quite a few good games lately. The Swede is slowly starting to settle down at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof

Ashley Young (LB)

Young toiled against City but to no avail. His fantastic form keeps him ahead of the likes of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, and Matteo Darmian.

Nemanja Matic (CM)

His performances have taken a dip recently. Nevertheless, should start on Wednesday.

Ander Herrera (CM)

With Pogba out, United will need Herrera to supply the energy and attacking verve to the team. So far, the Spaniard has been a major disappointment.

Juan Mata (RW)

He should be recalled into the starting line-up to add flair and creativity.

Jesse Lingard (CAM)

Lingard has shut up his critics with some eye-catching performances. Mourinho will be hoping that the attacker continues his good form, against Bournemouth.

Anthony Martial (LW)

He was not at his lethal best against our noisy neighbours but should start on Wednesday.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku had the chance to equalise against City but he failed to apply the finishing touch. He has been very poor lately and needs to get his mojo back as soon as possible. The game against Bournemouth comes as a chance for him to get back his form.
