The disappointment from the Manchester derby was still being felt but there was some good news for us after the draw for the first knockout round of the UEFA Champions League. We had topped our relatively easy group but there was a chance of facing clubs such as Juventus or Real Madrid as they had finished second in their respective groups.
Fortunately, we got a comparatively easy draw as we face Sevilla, who gave Liverpool a run for their money across the two group games. Jose Mourinho would have been pleased with the draw, given that Sevilla aren’t the toughest opponents around and we can think of making it to the quarter-finals at least.
The two legs of this round of 16 fixture will be held on the 21st of February and the 13th of March respectively.
