Manchester United made sure they stayed in touch with leaders Manchester City by notching up a 4-2 win over Watford. There would be a section of fans who will look at the result and say that it was a hard-fought one. Agreed, I will be the first to say that this was one of the toughest wins for the Red Devils this season. However, make no mistake, Watford is one of the most difficult places to visit this season.
The Hornets have been notching up impressive wins and it is a tribute to United’s strength that we took a 3-0 lead and should have added more, early in the second-half. In the end, the 4-2 win is a true reflection of United’s domination against a team that has been a tough cookie this year.
What this win has also done is that it has notched up the 900th away point for the Red Devils. The United side is already the most successful Premier League winning side and with this new stat, it has added daylight between them and the chasing pack.
There is so much to be happy about the win against Watford, but this has to take the cake; at least for me. What about the other fans? Are they thinking just like me? I’ve captured some of the reactions on social media to indicate the mood around this wonderful achievement.
