This is one link that has been dominating the papers in Manchester and London for quite some time now. The wantaway Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been linked with the exit door at the Emirates and Manchester United are reportedly leading the race for his signature.
No one knows what the player wants or if the club is really interested; just that Ozil had worked under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and he enjoys a good personal rapport with the current United manager.
That has meant that any small move by the player or club is being scrutinised for pointers towards the transfer. The latest advertisement starring United star Paul Pogba and Ozil inadvertently became a vehicle of further speculations.
Ozil shared a video on his social media, which shows him facing up to Pogba. Naturally, the supporters went into a frenzy indicating that the transfer is complete and Ozil is on his way to Old Trafford.
Are you surprised? To be frank, I am certainly not. Part of the reason is that I am half-expecting something like this to happen. In this world of constant transfer speculation, it is tough to delink a player with the rumoured club.
