Rashford Out, Martial In – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line-up To Face Huddersfield Town

Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Huddersfield Town In The Premier League

Manchester United will travel to Huddersfield Town looking to keep their unbeaten record intact. They convincingly held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield, followed by a narrow 1-0 win against Benfica in the Champions League.

Their opponents, meanwhile, have not had the best of luck so far. Last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Swansea saw Huddersfield move down to 12th in the table, despite making a strong start to the new season. David Wagner’s side are now without a win in any of their last six matches – having scored just one goal while conceding 10. Thus, United definitely have an upper-hand going into the game.

Team News

Marcus Rashford picked up a knee injury against Benfica and he could be absent against Huddersfield Town. Eric Bailly continues to be doubtful but Phil Jones is expected to be available. Fellaini, too, is yet to recover from an injury.

Marcos Rojo is likely to be back for United in a week’s time, which could be beneficial for the club. On the other hand, Michael Carrick, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are set to remain on the sidelines.

Here’s how Manchester United could take the field against David Wagner’s team

Manager: Jose Mourinho

Formation: 4-2-3-1

David De Gea (GK)

The Spaniard continues to be in stellar form for United and has maintained a clean sheet in almost every game for the club.

Valencia (RB)

Is it even possible to leave this guy out when he’s fit and available? Valencia will continue to take up his defensive duties at the right-back position.

Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones

Phil Jones (CB)

Another player who has been remarkable at the back is Phil Jones. He has guarded De Gea extremely well, having established strong partnerships with both Bailly and Smalling.

Chris Smalling (CB)

In Bailly’s absence, Smalling has seemingly improved and he should partner Jones at the heart of United’s defence.

Ashley Young (LB)

The makeshift left-back has proven to be quite influential at the back and has found success in that position. Luke Shaw is yet to make a strong comeback, so Mourinho is likely to deploy Young in the same position.

Nemanja Matic (DM)

Matic has proven to be the most influential player in United’s midfield and he will be looking to continue his good work against Huddersfield Town as well.

Nemanja Matic (centre)

Ander Herrera (CM)

Herrera has failed to do much throughout the new season and the upcoming match could present him with a chance to do better.

Martial (LW)

Martial should take up his usual position and look to contribute to the attack and perhaps also get his name on the score sheet.

Mkhitaryan (CAM)

Mkhitaryan has been another big name who has failed to make an impact in the past few games. However, Mourinho is still likely to go ahead with fielding the midfielder against Town.

Juan Mata (RW)

Mata is an underrated figure, with his contributions deserving much more recognition. He adds value to the side and will be looking to do so once again when United take the field on Saturday.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku started the season on a strong note but then his shine has dulled a bit. Against Huddersfield though, Lukaku will be confident of scoring a goal or two.
