‘Thanks 4 coming everton’ – Fans React On Twitter To Manchester United’s 4-0 Thrashing Of Everton

Wayne Rooney’s happy homecoming was utterly ruined with Man United’s thumping 4-0 win over Everton. Not a convincing performance according to many of the United faithful, but a win is a win no matter how or by how many.

It started in as early as the fourth minute when Antonio Valencia’s screamer found its way into the back of the net. Nemanja Matic delivered a curling ball from the left and Valencia, without thinking twice, hit a worldy and sent Manchester United fans into a frenzy. Just in, it was the Ecuadorian’s first goal for Manchester United since 2014.

Everton responded strongly in the second period, but getting past David De Gea is a laborious task in itself and Everton learned it the hard way. Wayne Rooney was awarded a couple of opportunities, but Spaniard kept his foot on the gas to deny his former captain. The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Sandro Ramirez had a go as well, but De Gea made sure he registered his 4th clean sheet in his 5 Premier League appearances this season.

Heading into the final ten minutes, United added three in absolutely no time. Intercepting Ashley Williams’ pass in the danger area, Marouane Fellaini found Romelu Lukaku at the edge of the box, who spotted Henrikh Mkhitaryan running with no man around him. Keeping his composure, the Armenian’s shot cruised past Jordan Pickford and that sealed Everton’s fate.

As if it was not enough, Romelu Lukaku scored against his former side with an easy tap after Jesse Lingard headed the ball in Belgian’s way. Anthony Martial, finally, added another with a calmly taken penalty. United have now scored 16 goals in just 5 Premier League appearances and have conceded just 2.

With that being done, this is how Twitter reacted to the victory:
