Manchester United have finally agreed a fee with Real Madrid to acquire the signature of 24-year-old striker Alvaro Morata, as per the reports from TransferMarketWeb. The Spanish international has been reportedly contacted by Jose Mourinho himself to tell him ‘how important he will be’ for Manchester United next season.

The speculation has been going on for a long time and a few days back, Sky Sports reported that United initially launched a £52m offer for Morata. However, the Galacticos firmly rejected the bid, claiming that he was worth more than that. Then came a report from Guardian, claiming that United were well expected to up their bid to £60m. And now, the Italian news outlet has claimed that the offer of £60m has been agreed and that the Spaniard will soon make his move to Old Trafford.

Morata has cleared off his intentions of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu to get regular first team football – something which Manchester United are well capable of offering. With Manchester United’s pursuit of Antoine Griezmann cooling off, Mourinho will be looking to breach the transfer market to search a number 9, and Morata would fit in his plans perfectly well.

Besides that, the Devils have released Zlatan Ibrahimovic and they are practically short in attacking unit. What adds further is the fact that they have Champions League football as well. So a sustainable depth will do a world of good for Man United.

What has added further spark to Morata’s speculation is his agent’s statement that his client needs to find a new club to get a regular first team football.

Juanma Lopez said,

“He doesn’t want to go through another season like that. It was a great season, but he wants to play more. Alvaro is a player who wants to play a more important role. He wants to play more. That’s normal for a striker who’s scored 19 goals. It’s not enough.”

It looks like there is every bit of chance for the move to happen and we have all the reasons to be excited about this one. Morata would be a great addition to our team and hopfully, we get the deal done as quickly as possible.
