Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez To Manchester United A ‘Real Possibility’ – At Least One Superstar Will Make The Switch In The Summer

Bale

Manchester United and Real Madrid appear certain to do business in the summer one way or the other. Manchester United have been linked with top players at Madrid. Apart from the likes of Raphael Varane and Pepe who have been touted as potential signings from the Spanish capital, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale are the mouth-watering names being linked with United. It has been reported by The Daily Star, that United are on the verge of completing at least one top signing from Madrid in the summer.

A few days ago, reports about the Red Devils announcing the signing of James Rodriguez after the Champions League final surfaced. As the days have progressed, United seem to be slowly switching their attention to an even bigger target – Gareth Bale. The Welshman has endured a tough 12 months at the Santiago Bernabeu. After having spent most of the campaign on the sidelines, he is reportedly open to the possibility of a return back to England.

Manchester United were amongst the competitors for his signature back in 2013 when he moved to Madrid in £85million deal. Now, the Red Devils are back for his signature. This time around, they have a top manager in the form of Jose Mourinho – unlike David Moyes back in 2013. The Portuguese’s presence appears to have made Bale’s camp seriously consider this interest.

Even though he was brought to the Spanish capital in a record deal, he has never failed to match the statistics of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar continues to be the important player at Madrid. Bale’s importance has been diminishing with each passing month. Now, the club are at a stage where they are even considering the possibility of going into the Champions League final without the Welshman, but with the chances of retaining the title significantly high. The likes of Lucas Vazquez has been impressive on the right wing as the replacement for Bale.

Manchester United will benefit from signing Bale. Apart from bringing a player who is rich with quality, United will also be bringing a player who can deliver straight away. He managed to win the PFA Player of the Year title in his final campaign in England. It appears that James Rodriguez has been put up as the backup option in case United fail to sign Bale.
