David de Gea 6 – Did not have much to do but failed to save the penalty from Josh King.

Antonio Valencia 6.5 – Valencia was a constant threat for Bournemouth, as he made incisive runs down the right wing. His telling contribution came in the second half when his cross – albeit over-hit – earned a penalty, which was not converted by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Marcos Rojo 6.5 – The defender came up with the goal that provided Manchester United’s opener and should have led the club towards scoring more goals. However, there was not much to do for the Argentine.

Phil Jones 5 – A poor performance from the England defender ahead of the upcoming international games. His failure to come out with the ball led to Manchester United’s overreliance on the midfielders in the second half.

Luke Shaw 7 – A solid display by the forgotten United star, who had an incredible 90% pass accuracy. Shaw also came up with five tackles and was not dispossessed by the opponents.

Michael Carrick 6 – A mediocre display going by the incredible standards set by the 35-year-old. Carrick had a pass accuracy of 83% while he was dispossessed once in the game.

Paul Pogba 5 – After a decent first half, Paul Pogba had a nightmare in the second. Apart from a long-range effort that tested Boruc, the French midfielder was constantly fluffing his lines.

Juan Mata 6 – On his day, Juan Mata can destroy the opponents with his eye of the needle passes. Yet, this was not one of the days. Even though he had 89% pass accuracy, Mata was unable to provide the decisive pass for a Rooney or Ibrahimovic.

Anthony Martial 6 – Anthony Martial was constantly trying to create opportunities for his team. Yet, the decisive pass from the Frenchman did not arrive. Even though he had two shots at goal, Martial never came close to scoring.

Wayne Rooney 6 – A surprise starter, Rooney had a decent first half but not enough to score his 251st goal for the club. He had three shots on target, but a mediocre start to the second half saw him hauled off in the 70th minute.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic 5 – Ibrahimovic had one of his disappointing outings in the Manchester United shirt. Searching for his first league goal in almost a month, Ibrahimovic missed a penalty which would have given the home team a decisive advantage.

Substitutes

Marouane Fellaini 6 – Fellaini was obviously brought on to help United in the long ball game. Even though he won some aerial duels, it was not a major impact.

Jesse Lingard 5 – Lingard has scored some crucial goals this season, but he has nowhere to be found in the second half.

Marcus Rashford 6 – Tried his utmost best, but it was not sufficient.
