Juan Mata has been linked with a move out of the Old Trafford for some time now as a part of Jose Mourinho sending off players whom he deems surplus to requirement, however, according to recent reports, the manager has stated that Mata may have a future at the Theatre of Dreams in the upcoming season.
“One thing is the stories people write. The other thing is the reality,” Mourinho said to ESPN.
“Seeing what happened in our previous club, people thought he had no future. It is completely different.
“I trust him. Every time he plays, I know what he can give and I know what he cannot give. He has a lot to give.”
Mourinho sold Mata during their time at the Stamford Bridge and the manager is said to be concerned about the player’s ability on defense and his pace. However, Mata was a part of the starting line-up for United in their 3-1 victory against Bournemouth on Sunday and now it seems like the player will be staying at the Old Trafford.
The player scored the opening goal against Bournemouth and seems like the same made way for the player’s stay at United for another season. Although the close of the summer transfer window is just weeks away there can be changes that the Portuguese manager deems fit to make at the club.
