Eric Bailly Was Firm As A Wall – Manchester United Player Ratings vs Bournemouth

Manchester United Player Ratings vs Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United got an impressive 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court.

Goals from Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, and  Zlatan Ibrahimovic put the away team in an easy and dominating position before Bournemouth’s Adam Smith got his team their first and unfortunately, their only goal came towards the end of the second half.

The win puts the Red Devils at the top of the table. Nothing to be too proud of but one can’t help but feel joy to think that this year is ours after an amazing performance by the team.

Player Ratings:

David De Gea: 7

Didn’t have much to do except towards the end of the match, and passed that test well. Failed to stop Smith’s goal, as the Bournemouth player had found the top corner which wasn’t easy to stop.

Antonio Valencia: 7

The former no.7 did a great job at the right flank yet again. Made great runs, rushing for attacks whenever he could.

Eric Bailly: 9

bailly

The new signing was firm as a wall, and couldn’t have wished for a better debut match. Man of the Match for a reason.

Dailey Blind: 7

Mourinho was upset with the Dutchman’s performance in the first half as Blind had been giving away long balls to his team up front consistently. He later on, made himself comfortable and overall, had a good game.

Luke Shaw: 6

Couldn’t do as good as the other full-back, but he did well considering he missed out a lot last season.

Marouane Fellaini: 7

Fellaini’s inclusion in the starting XI was criticised a lot but the Belgium player had bossed the midfield in the second half, helping his team to keep ball possession more than they were able to.

Ander Herrera: 6

Struggled to play like he usually does but he still managed to get some very decent passes to his teammates.

Juan Mata: 8

Mata’s display kept on improving as the game went on. Also gave United the lead, and a comfortable position in the match despite having less possession of the ball.

Wayne Rooney: 7

The skipper got himself a goal and the second one for the team but was sluggish and kept giving way the ball in many occasions.

Anthony Martial: 7

The French youngster was unstoppable as usual on the left flank and produced some good attacks.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 8

Ibra couldn’t have wished for a better start to his United career. The Swedish legend yet again grabbed another goal for his new club and looked very active in attacks throughout the match.

Substitutes:

Henrikh Mkhitaryan : 6 (for Mata, 75’)

Morgan Schneiderlin: 4 (for Martial, 85’)

Memphis: Didn’t do much. Came on too late. (for Rooney, 89’)
