Three Realistic Destinations For This Out Of Favour Manchester United Star

rojo1

After watching Manchester United’s pre-season games, it is quite clear that they seriously need to work on the defensive area. Last season, when United were under van Gaal, the side formed a great defensive partnership, but now with Jose Mourinho at the helm, the spectators might see a change in the plan.

Now, we all are aware of the fact that Manchester United have so far signed three players, and on the other hand, we haven’t seen any major outgoing from the club. It is obvious that the Portuguese manager will not hesitate to let some of the current squad members leave. Very recently, many reports have claimed that Jose Mourinho has no concrete role for Bastian Schweinsteiger in his plans, hence, the German might leave the club. As soon as Mourinho’s arrival was announced, it was reported that Juan Mata and Daley Blind will be the first pair to leave, but now, it seems like both of them can really work wonders under Mourinho.

Besides all of that, United defender, Marcos Rojo’s future as a Devils is still hanging between nowhere. The Argentine full-back, who signed for the Devils back in 2014 failed to put a firm grip in the first team squad. The 26-year-old was heavily criticized for his sloppy defending and was more of a liability for the manager. Even in the pre-season games, he has failed to mark his name in front of the new manager, hence, it is safe to say that we might see Rojo being shown the exit door of the Old Trafford, so in that case, we give you three destinations, where this out of favour star could shine:

  • Villarreal-

A few days back, the Sun reported that Villarreal’s manager, Marcelino García Toral, is interested in signing Marcos Rojo, and we personally feel that this move could revive the Argentine’s career in the sport. It is very clear now that the defender is not able to catch up the pace and aggression of the Premier League, hence, a move to La Liga would really help the player.

Rojo, who was dismissed in the Copa America final, might find it easy to play in Spain as the competition and the aggression, compared to the Premier League, is quite less.

  • Sevilla-

Another Spanish side Rojo could join! The three times Europa League winner, Sevilla, could really offer Rojo a real first team spot. According to the recent reports from the Daily Star, the Spanish giants tried to get their hands on the Argentine defender, but the Devils rejected the offer. The source further stated that no particular amount was mentioned, but it seems like the club might return with a new and improved offer as they too are aware of the fact that Rojo don’t have a concrete role at Manchester United under Mourinho.

  • Sporting Lisbon-

There is no better place than home, isn’t it? The 26-year-old was bought from the Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, with whom, he made 61 appearances during his two years of tenure. And after his departure from the Estádio José Alvalade, the Portuguese giants have failed to find a better replacement. Yes, the Devils might have to face a loss in the deal, because right at this very moment, the player is really not worth the money United spent on him two years back, but we really believe that the deal might benefit all the three parties.
