red

The speculation about Zlatan Ibrahimovic joining Manchester United have finally concluded. The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Theatre of Dream would strengthen the attacking line of the team. With Zlatan having previous experience with Mourinho, a lot is will be expected from the duo.

It is understood that the Portuguese manager will still be looking to add some more players in order to reshape the team according to his script. The fans witnessed some horrible performances from the last couple of years, but many expect that a new dawn will be seen at the Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho wasted no time as soon after his arrival, he made Eric Bailly from Villarreal his new signing and soon after Sweden’s elimination from Euro, Ibrahimovic’s arrival is announced.

Now, many media, including SkySports have reported that Manchester United are close to signing the Armenian attacking midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan. A recent report from the same source even reported that Manchester United showed their new away kit on the club’s website with the name Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the back. Though they were removed from the website, but we understood what’s going on in there.

So it is now safe to say that Manchester United have completed three transfers under Mourinho, but many still believe that he won’t be stopping anytime soon. So, here we bring you the names of those three players, who could follow Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic to the Theatre of Dreams:

  1. Nemanja Matic-

The 27-year-old Serbian international has been a trusted servant for the Blues, but it is now reported that Jose Mourinho might snatch this midfielder under Chelsea’s nose and to be perfectly honest, this move will be a beneficial deal for the Reds. Under Mourinho, Matic was a real beast and is still considered as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league.

Matic’s versatility allows him to play as a central midfielder as well, but Mourinho usually used him as a defensive one. Michael Carrick has signed a new contract with the club, still many believe that he might not be one Mourinho is looking for. And with Schneiderlin’s future at the club looking doubtful Matic will be the best option for the side.

  1. John Stones-

John Stones

It is recently reported that United’s city rivals Manchester City, who recently completed the signing of the Spanish attacker Nolito are desperately chasing the 22-year-old English centre back John Stones. The Evertonian failed badly last season, but every single manager is aware of his talent. While his time at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho tried to sign him, but the Toffees rejected the offer.

It is understood that the Devils will need another centre back as they will be playing in the Europa League and therefore, Stones might join the side in the transfer window. Besides being a centre half, John can also operate the game as a full back. There is no doubt that United will have to pay loads of cash as Manchester City is also in the chase, but the 22-year-old is worth it.

  1. James Rodriguez-

James

The 24-year-old Columbian international had a horrific season with the Los Blancos and it is reported that he might be willing to make a move away from Santiago Bernabeu in order to get a regular play time. With reports suggesting his departure, many believe that Manchester United are the favourite side to sign him. The Columbian joined Real after a brilliant performance in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals, but he failed badly to make it to the starting XI at Madrid, thanks to Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Again, Manchester United may have to pay loads of cash to sign the player, but signing him would end United’s goal drought. The Columbian is a proven goal scorer and is also a top playmaker. He is known for his speed, for his agility and for his maturity on the field. Buying James would be the perfect ending to Manchester United’s transfer window as he would become a long-term option for the team.
