£79 million! We are not even talking about Paul Pogba. According to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United are preparing a massive bid of the mentioned amount to sign Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain.
The report further stresses that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been leaving hints at various places about his imminent move to Manchester United wants Verratti to join him at Old Trafford. Verratti’s contract runs till 2020 and the PSG chief are interested in keeping hold of the player, but has suffered an injury hit season last year.
The amount mentioned by the Italian media is a little difficult to digest if we are being honest and given that United would rather sign Paul Pogba if given a chance and the Frenchman is available for similar amount we really do not see the Red Devils paying such astronomical figure for Verratti.
Anyways Verratti is a talented player and if he can recover fully and gain his form then he will be a valuable addition to United.
