Manchester United are looking to be on the verge of completing the signing of Renato Sanches from Benfica for a £46 million deal as per StarSport. The 18-year-old wonder is next best thing to happen to Portuguese football since Cristiano Ronaldo and is expected to emulate the superstar when he arrives at Old Trafford.
However instead of donning the famous no. 7 he is said to be preparing to ask for no. 85 jersey. If allowed to wear he will be the highest number jersey in the history of Manchester United. The number is kind of a brand for the player and he also uses Instagram handle of RS85. So far the highest number worn by anyone in the club history has been no. 53 by Jesse Lingard in the 11-12 season.
The player is also coveted by Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Arsenal but United are leading the race. Reports have emerged that the Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira was in London last night.
