Should Manchester United Go Ahead And Sign This Argentine Goal Scorer?

Mauro Icardi

Manchester United’s marquee target Mauro Icardi has revealed he’s open to offers ahead of the summer transfer window. The Inter Milan captain is understood to be one of Jose Mourinho’s top targets if the Portuguese coach replaces Van Gaal at the end of this season.

The £35.5 million-rated striker, who is also under Liverpool’s radar, has said that he may not be at the San Siro next season. The striker is also linked to the London clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Whether United will qualify for next season’s Champions League may be vital in their odds of landing the Argentine footballer.

The Inter Milan captain has been linked to Manchester United for almost two months now and the talks might be preceded soon if Mourinho takes over as the manager of the club.

The Argentine has been very consistent with his performance this season, showing a great display on the pitch. As a captain of the team, Icardi holds and performs his responsibilities well but tough luck to the 23-year-old, his team isn’t on par with their captain.

Icardi can be an important player for any team in any league, without a doubt. But a move to Manchester United cannot be something beneficial to the club. Manchester United already has a gifted striker in the making –Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils need a highly experienced striker with a knack of finishing the ball as easy as a charm, to get their pieces together and be amongst the best clubs of the world.

Icardi’s move to Manchester United, in my opinion, will be a waste of money. Manchester United should try their luck with better in-form players like Antoine Griezmann and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
