Manchester United Needs To Pay More Than Half Of The Release Clause To Get This Portuguese Midfielder

There was a report from Portugal two weeks ago about Manchester United’s interest in Sporting midfielder Joao Mario. However, at that time the report stated that the Old Trafford outfit were not too sure if he is the right person to be bought.

Monday’s report from the same media, A Bola, has claimed that Manchester United are not sure of Mario and will make him a formal offer at the end of the season. The report did not state the amount United were willing to offer but has an estimate of how much Sporting wants for their player. The player has a release clause of £49m after renewing his contract just recently. Manchester United will probably have to offer more than half of it to start the transfer discussion.

Also, considering that Euro 2016 is coming up the price may fluctuate depending on Mario’s performance at the tournament. The player is also reported to have interest from Manchester city.
