Manchester United is highly praised for their youth academy. They have produced players who went on to becoming legends of this game. During Sir Alex’s era, United used to have the most home-grown players in the team in the Premier League. They still majorly depend on their youth academy, as the club has the history of preferring their own produced players than buying from other teams or leagues.

On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur is also not too far behind in the current scene when it comes to youth players. We’ve seen the London club perform incredibly well and giving a tough competition to Leicester for the Premier League title. Spurs have many of their young players playing consistently this season. Players like Danny Rose and Andros Townsend have played an important role for Tottenham’s remarkable display this season in the Premier League.

Manchester United has been more active in their youth academy than any other English club since a long time. Likes of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, etc. have emerged from United’s youth academy. They are known for producing top class players. Currently, Red Devils have ten of their youth academy graduates in their squad. Players like Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, McNair and Borthwick-Jackson have been backed up by coaches and fans as the upcoming stars for the club, after seeing their performance in the limited chance they’ve got because of the lack of choices van Gaal had due to the injuries.

Tottenham Hotspur has eight of their youth academy graduates in their squad. Players like Ledley King and John Bostock were from Tottenham’s youth academy. In opposition to the likes of Lingard and Rashford, Spurs have Danny Rose, Tom Carroll, and Andros Townsend in their current squad from the youth academy.

Danny Rose has won 45 tackles this season with a success rate of 55%. He has made 26 interceptions and 75 clearances. Tom Carroll has scored one goal this season, creating eight chances in 18 appearances.

It’s tough to decide the winner here. While Tottenham are the youngest team in the league and doing great this season, United youngsters have outperformed many seniors in the team.

Result: Tie
