The Liverpool captain had been with the club since he was a kid, and has been a face of the NorthWestern Derby for more than a decade now. He has faced as much ridicule from the Red Devils, most memorably for the manner in which he was sent off 45 seconds after coming on in the 2nd half of this match last season, a game which was also his last appearance in this derby. On the flip side, the Kops worship him for the manner in which he always scored at Old Trafford, and for his iconic “kissing the camera” celebration.
