Manchester United – Arsenal Player Ratings

The impressive youngster, Marcus Rashford scored twice and assisted Ander Herrera as Arsenal lost 3-2 at Old Trafford. The 18 year old scored twice again in his second match and also his Premier League debut making it difficult for the Gunners to fight for the title.

Ex-Manchester United player, Danny Welbeck scored a header before United’s third goal with Mesut Ozil also on the scoresheet. Arsenal were still, however unable to stop the injury-hit side from grabbing a victory at their home.

Few brilliant saves from the no. 1 kept United in lead including an early save of Monreal’s attempt.

Varela: 7

Got booked for tackling Sanchez but coped up pretty well in the remaining match.

Michael Carrick: 6

Also got booked. Played as an emergency centre-back with a decent performance.

Unable to defend up to his standards and a loose attempt to clear the ball with his head allowing Welbeck to score.

Very effective in the field and read their game well.

Assisted thoroughly in both defence and attacks.

Booked. Great passing and crosses. Scored off a deflected shot.

Assisted Rashford’s second goal and performed well again.

Great passing and controlled the tempo of United’s midfield.

Memphis: 7

A skill show again by the Dutchman after midweek and signs of improving his recent form.

Scored twice again in his second match. Extremely effective at a prominent fixture.

Apart from the unintentional deflection on Herrera’s goal, he showed a steady display.

Unable to finish one-on-one in the early minutes. Performed poorly overall.

Solid performance throughout and also blocked Schneiderlin’s shot from a few yards away from the goal.

Booked for his angry reaction against Herrera. Poor performance.
