Diario de Noticias, a Portuguese newspaper has said that Mourinho’s move to Manchester United is a done deal and explained the details of the contract.
As per the news, the Portuguese manager will take over Old Trafford in the summer and has agreed to a three year contract. The “special one” will be earning a handsome €20 million a season with Red Devils and will be paid another €5 million if the club wins the Premier League.
The 20 times English champions has struggled this season terribly and for various reasons. The Old Trafford board was earlier split over the decision to recruit Mourinho but now has decided to get the Portuguese on board. Many suspect that the reason United has not yet fired Louis Van Gaal is because the club will have to pay the Dutchman a hefty €12.5 million if he is sacked now. Nonetheless, if the results continue to be bad, the Dutchman may well be let go before the season ends.
