As per the reports of Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho is desperate for the job at Manchester United. It is reported that Mourinho believes, given the helms at United, he can win the title with the resources available this season.
Louis Van Gaal has fallen from grace after a poor season and it is being widely speculated that he may be shown the exit door very soon. Apart from the uninspiring performances, the Dutchman has also been unable to provide results home and away. Recent loss to Southampton has seen the United fans boo their manager.
Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes is very often in touch with the United officials and is believed to have called Woodward after the Southampton defeat. Though it is nothing concrete, if United decides to sack LVG, they will have an option of signing a world class coach who is not only available but also eager to join the club.
It was claimed on Saturday night that Mourinho sent a six-page letter to United but a club insider told Sportsmail: ‘Jorge is a friend of United and would have contacted officials personally, by email or even text.
‘These relationships are very personal. It would not have been the first conversation of that nature this season.’
The United board are said to be apprehensive about his off-field antics, but Mourinho is willing to meet them halfway. They want him to curb his controversial behaviour and the 52-year-old is happy to oblige.
