Both Arsenal And Manchester United Want Alexis Sanchez: What Would He Bring?

Pace and power. Two things that Sanchez has in abundance and two things that United and Arsenal are lacking and looking to add to their squad in this window.

Spanish paper Marca report that the Premier League duo are both willing to pay £17.5 million for the Barcelona forward, once the World Cup is finished.

The winger has been in fine form for underdogs Chile, scoring a goal and providing an assist in three games and was particularly impressive in their 2-0 win over reigning champions Spain. (Squawka)

There had been rumours of the Chilean forward being involved as part of a potential deal for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

However, that potential seems to have diminished with FIFA banning the Uruguayan from all football-related activity for four months, following his biting incident with Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini.

That leaves United and the Gunners fighting it out for his signature, as it is believed Sanchez favours a move to the Premier League over Serie A and Juventus.

Sanchez would offer United some much needed pace but also another goal threat, so that the pressure is not only on Rooney and van Persie’s shoulders.

I see the former Udinese winger as a game changer, something that last season United didn’t have a lot of with van Persie missing for large chunks of the season.

When things aren’t going your way in a match, sometimes you just need a player with the confidence and ability to beat the man in-front of him and put the ball in the back of the net.
