Borussia Dortmund Say Marco Reus Is NOT Leaving: Here’s Three Alternatives For United To Consider

It seems another of Manchester United’s A-list targets won’t be available this summer and with United out of Europe next season, perhaps they’re looking at the wrong players.

According to Sky Sports, Borussia Dortmund have said there is no chance that Marco Reus will be leaving the Westfalenstadion, despite interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.

It is proving a very difficult summer for United, with Ed Woodward struggling to get any deals across the line before the World Cup and no manager until the tournament finishes.

However, regardless of the issues like players wanting to wait until after the World Cup to move clubs and United having no European football next season, I think United need to look elsewhere.

Here are three affordable and available options for United:

Antoine Griezmann: The French winger has had a fantastic season with Real Sociedad, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists (Squawka). Having broken into Deschamps’ World Cup squad, Griezmann may well be looking for a big move this summer.

Dries Mertens: Mertens played a big part in Rafael Benitez’ Napoli side, scoring 11 goals from out wide(Squawka). Keep an eye out for Mertens in the World Cup with Belgium, he’s brilliantly direct, fast and with bags of skill.

Pedro: The Barcelona forward has secured his place as one of the best wingers in Europe, despite a poor season for the Catalans, Pedro scored 15 goals in La Liga and provided six assists (Squawka). And according to Marca, his future at the Camp Nou is uncertain.
