Arsenal And Manchester United Target Confirms He Wants A Move: Why United Should Snap Him Up

A German Manchester United target has confirmed he is going to leave his current club, but before United fans get too excited, it’s not Kroos, Muller or Schweinsteiger.

The Express report that young star Matthias Ginter has insisted that he will leave Bundesliga side Freiburg this summer, in search of a bigger club.

The 20 year-old can play both in the centre of defence and midfield and is regarded as a member of the next golden generation coming through in German football.

His versatility is one of the reasons that German national coach and former Freiburg player Joachim Loew, has included Ginter in his World Cup squad for Brazil, despite his lack of experience.

Although Freiburg endured a rather poor campaign in the Bundesliga, finishing 14th, Ginter was the stand out member of the team and it’s clear he is destined for bigger things.

According to Squawka, Ginter didn’t miss a single league game for Freiburg, and throughout his 34 appearances he maintained an 85% pass accuracy and won 60% of his headers.

His great year has certainly not gone unnoticed by Europe’s top clubs with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund monitoring his situation, along with United and Arsenal.

United would be a good move for Ginter, at this stage of his career, having just broken into the international set-up he needs regular football, which he won’t get at either of the top two in Germany.

As for Arsenal, as good as he is, I can’t see him breaking up their brilliant defensive partnership of Mertesacker and Koscielny.

The one thing that is for certain with Louis van Gaal, is that he will not change his system to suit players. Ginter’s versatility means he can adapt to what van Gaal may require.

Seems like a good match if you ask me.
