Two Youngsters To Get Posh Treatment

Two of our talented youngsters are due to link up with our former midfielder Darren Ferguson (Sir Alex’s son) at Peterborough United next season.

Peterborough of course managed by Darren won promotion back to The Championship last season after winning the League 1 play off final at Old Trafford after a 3-0 win against Huddersfield and will look to cement themselves in England’s second-tier and avoid relegation this coming season.

Our highly rated young midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe has joined The Posh on a six-month loan deal whilst defender Scott Wootton has been allowed to join up with ‘Boro at their pre-season training camp in Portugal with a view of a possible deal at the end of the month.

Tunnicliffe made 13 appearances for our reserves last season and was a key performer in our U18 side which won the FA Youth Cup against Sheffield United, as we won the trophy for the first time in eight seasons.

Wootton a former captain of our Academy side (who joined us from Liverpool) made regular appearances for the reserves last season and enjoyed spells out on loan at League 1 side Tranmere last season where he scored one goal in seven appearances for the Wirral side

It shall be interesting to see how the two youngsters get on at London Road next season and you suspect a permanent move for either player (more so Wootton) could potentially be on the cards provided they do well and contribute to a good Peterborough side.
