Manchester United make Daniel James their first signing of the Solskjaer era

Manchester United have agreed a deal in principle to sign Swansea City starlet Daniel James, according to BBC. The player has completed a medical and will soon become manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing at Old Trafford.

According to Sky Sports, the deal is worth an initial fee of £15m plus an additional £3m in add-ons, with personal terms already agreed.

The Swansea sensation enjoyed a breakthrough campaign this year, scoring 5 goals in 38 appearances. Daniel James is a Welsh international and is in the national team’s squad for the upcoming 2020 Euro qualifiers.

Daniel James is a sign of things to come at Old Trafford

James is just 21 years old and the club spending £18m on the youngster shows the kind of mentality at the top right now. It seems like the club are working with a long-term vision and it is a welcome move.

Daniel James is certainly a promising youngster and as good as it is that we have signed a young sensation like the Welshman, the club also has to spend on some established talents to lift the morale around Old Trafford.

After the kind of season we played, it is important to make some key changes to the team and spend some money on the right areas of the squad.

Nevertheless, Daniel James is a step in the right direction and it will be exciting to see what plans we have for the young exciting winger.
