La Liga champions Barcelona are plotting a swap deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, according to Daily Mail UK.

The report also adds that the Catalans are ready to offload star midfielder Ivan Rakitic as a part of the exchange.

Real Madrid proved to be Pogba’s potential suitors and now it looks like their arch-rivals have entered the race.

Pogba’s fluctuating campaign

The French World Cup winner just endured an eventful season with no silverware in the end.

Despite being played down by ex-gaffer Jose Mourinho at the start, Pogba enjoyed a short spell of success under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

However, the former Juventus star’s dip in form at the crucial stage of the league played a big part in United’s slump.

The French man has scored 15 goals and provided 9 assists this season across all competitions.

Ivan Rakitic to United?

The Croatian midfielder is no more an unfamiliar face to the Red Devils as he previously got linked with a move to Old Trafford.

In fact, both Mourinho and Solskjaer were believed to be big fans of the Croat and have always wanted him in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old continued his brilliant World Cup form at Camp Nou before getting hindered by a major Champions League setback.

More like his teammates, Rakitic was one of the few players who produced a terrible display in the Champions League semi-final defeat against Liverpool, which is touted to be the reason for Barca’s decision on him.
