Man United keeping close tabs on this 23-year-old Bundesliga wall for the summer

Manchester United want Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule

Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule ahead of the summer transfer window, report The Sport.

The game against Barcelona over the two legs in the Champions League quarter-finals proved the task Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has in his hands now. The La Liga giants eased past our side 4-0 on aggregate to book their place in the semi-final of the competition, meaning Solskjaer’s side will need to finish in the top four to ensure Champions League football next season.

The Norwegian tactician needs to start rebuilding the scratch which means he has to first sort out the defence in the summer. We saw how Lionel Messi and co. toyed with our defenders at the Camp Nou, emphasising the gulf in class between the two sides.

Thus, the Reds’ interest in German defender Niklas Sule doesn’t come as a surprise. Manchester United believe Sule has all the right qualities to flourish in the Premier League, claim The Sport. The report also adds that we have already made an initial inquiry about the German defender.

Indeed, Sule has been a rock at the back for Bayern this campaign, putting in some really dominant displays in the Bundesliga. The German champions haven’t had an ideal season but the 23-year-old has held his own and has become a key member of the starting XI under Niko Kovac.

Sule would be a brilliant signing for the Reds

Sule would undoubtedly bolster United’s defensive ranks, whilst being the perfect partner for Victor Lindelof at the heart of the rearguard.

The Germany international has all the tools in him to become a success in England’s top-flight but as has a contract until 2022 at Bayern, we certainly have to break the bank to get his signature.
