Anthony Martial’s chances of joining Inter Milan on loan in the second half of the season have ended, as per the Mirror.

The report says that the French attacker was a target for Inter in the coming January window. In fact, the Italian outfit were willing to spend up to £26.6million to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

In response, however, Manchester United have demanded Ivan Perisic in exchange. The Italian side are already trailing Juventus and their manager is a big fan of the former Monaco star (h/t Mirror).

Martial hasn’t started many games under Jose Mourinho this season and was a substitute in our 2-1 win over Watford.

The report further states that the Serie A giants do not want to sell Perisic as the Croatian is one of their best players.

Martial’s relationship with Mourinho might not be great but our board do not want to sell the 22-year-old (Mirror). The manager doesn’t want to lose the Frenchman unless he brings in a replacement and Perisic was his first-choice, as per the report.

Martial hasn’t been impressive for us this season, however, a swap deal to get Perisic wouldn’t be good for the club.

The Croatian is known for his incredible work-rate and crossing in the box. But he will come at a cost to Old Trafford. On the other hand, Martial has a ton of potential in him and everyone at the club must work together to get the best out of the 22-year-old.
