Former Manchester United star Ander Herrera turns down Tottenham Hotspur move.
Former Manchester United star Ander Herrera turns down Tottenham Hotspur move.

The Metro claims that Ander Herrera is willing to listen to offers from other clubs in the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old is unhappy that Manchester United are delaying offering him a new contract and will be a free agent at the end of the season, as per the Metro.

The report adds that the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder wants to stay at Old Trafford. United signed him in 2014 on a four-year deal for a fee of £29million, before triggering a one-year extension last season.

Herrera’s party believed the team would offer him a new deal quickly and not wait until the final year of his contract, as per the report.

The Metro adds that Herrera’s team are certain they will receive offers for the 29-year-old in January and are frustrated that United haven’t presented the Spaniard a new deal yet.

Jose Mourinho wants to keep hold of the versatile midfielder but the report claims the Portuguese boss doesn’t participate in negotiations and instead, Ed Woodward deals with it.

The United manager was quoted by the Metro as saying:

“I never did that, it’s something that I don’t even like to do.

“I would be a bad negotiator; I would give everything to the players. So I don’t belong to that.”

Herrera played in our 3-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur, before appearing as a substitute in the win over Burnley. Although the Spaniard hasn’t clicked into gear this season, we should not lose him on a free transfer.
