Kylian Mbappe

The Mirror reports that Manchester United had spoken to Paris Saint-Germain regarding Kylian Mbappe’s availability but were turned down by the French giants.

Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and his talent was on show in Russia as France lifted the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

However, the report adds that Jose Mourinho has to change his transfer policy at United. The report claims that our gaffer must stop signing over-priced old players and try to work with the young talent in the club.

Toby Alderweireld and Ivan Perisic were two players United were linked with, according to the Mirror. However, United were unhappy with the asking price for Alderweireld and did not think that Perisic would be a viable short-term solution for the club (h/t the Mirror).

Ivan Perisic

The report claims that Ed Woodward is willing to spend money on the right player, provided we stop looking at short-term quick fixes.

Woodward also does not want Mourinho to sell either Anthony Martial or Paul Pogba (h/t the Mirror). Tthe French midfielder did score a goal in our 2-1 win over Leicester City on the opening day of the season.

United only signed three players this summer and despite being linked with a plethora of players, no other deal materialized.

Not bringing in more players could be a problem for us as we must aim to win our first Premier League title since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
