Manchester United target Ivan Perisic has claimed that he would like to play in the Premier League as he is looking to extend his playing career for as long as possible. The Daily Star claims that Jose Mourinho wants to bring the Croatian to Old Trafford.

Even though Perisic had been linked with a move to United, he did sign a new deal with Inter Milan to extend his stay at the Serie A club.

“Last year I signed new five-year deal with Inter, I enjoy great status at the club”, the Daily Star quoted the 29-year-old Croatian.

Perisic also added that he would only join a club that plays in a top league. The Inter winger further claimed that although he was happy at Inter, anything could happen in football.

“Only God knows what will happen in future, I am happy at Inter but we all know anything is possible in football.

“Honestly, I would like to test myself in all of the biggest leagues but the question is will I have the time, I am 29 and working to extend my career as long as I can.

“Yes, I’d like to play in England and Spain but I don’t know if there is enough time left.”

The Croatian did have a great World Cup. Perisic scored a goal in the final but could not help his side lift the World Cup.

United have only brought three players this summer but none of them can play in the attack, something that Perisic can clearly do for club and country.
