According to ESPN FC, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he wants to sign two more players before the close of the transfer window.

“One thing is what I would like,” he told ESPN FC. “Another thing is what is going to happen.”

Asked in a straightforward manner how many new signings he would like, our Portuguese gaffer was quick to say that his side needed two new faces to arrive.

Mourinho added: “I would get two more players.”

Manchester United have already signed Brazil midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto right-back Diogo Dalot. Goalkeeper Lee Grant has also moved to Old Trafford from Stoke City and has impressed in our club’s first two pre-season games in America.

One area Mourinho claims he is not looking to strengthen before the August 9 deadline is right-back, despite an injury to Antonio Valencia.

With little more than a fortnight left to go until the transfer window slams shut, it is difficult for us to get the deals done. Mourinho wants two more players and must persuade our executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to complete the signings as quickly as possible.

This is a make-or-break season for Mourinho as he has to deliver the league title. There has been a lot of anxiety among the fans due to the fact that Liverpool have made some exciting signings over the summer transfer window and look highly equipped to challenge Manchester City for the title.
