Manchester United agree personal terms with world-class star but face competition from PSG

Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Brazilian for a while and while speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), Castles claimed it was easy to negotiate with the player due to his low salary at the Turin club.

“Manchester United have agreed personal terms in advance with Alex Sandro, he’s not particularly well paid at Juventus so it’s been easy to say ‘we’ll double your salary if you come to us’ and push for the move.”

Castles also added that Juventus do not particularly want to sell the defender but they would be willing to cash in on him if the price is high.

There is some competition for the player as Paris Saint-Germain are also interested and United might have a bit of a disadvantage when trying to negotiate for Sandro.

Luke Shaw

Since the Premier League window closes on 9th August, PSG could wait to see what amount United bid before they get into the act. United might have to spend a lot of money to sign Sandro, while PSG can look to bid for the player well after the 9th August deadline for the Premier League.

United do need to have a quality player in the left-back position even though we still have Luke Shaw on the books. The Englishman does not seem to be the answer for us this season and Sandro would be an exceptional buy. However, we will have to pay a lot for the Brazilian.

Juventus would also be looking to recoup some of the money they spent on Cristiano Ronaldo and that could mean any player leaving the Turin giants would do so on a huge deal.
