Man Utd ace verbally commits his future at Old Trafford amidst exit rumours

Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw suffered another injury setback towards the end of 2019/20 term

Luke Shaw might be linked with a move away from Manchester United but the English left-back still wants to prove to Jose Mourinho that he can play a role for the club.

The former Southampton man hasn’t had the best of relationships with Mourinho and the Daily Star reports that Everton are interested in the 23-year-old. However, Shaw believes he has five games to prove his fitness and there is an opportunity for him to showcase his ability.

The 23-year-old was quoted by the Daily Star as saying:

“There are opportunities for all the players, not just me. I look at it like that. The next five games are about fitness. I want to prove to the manager that I can be in his team.”

Shaw further added that he wants to be the first player to be on the team-sheet but he did look back at his time at United and recalled his horrific leg injury, which curtailed his season.

The Englishman still believes that Mourinho can use him in his plans and that’s why he is still part of United.

“I know what I can do and that’s why I am still here. I don’t think I would still be involved if the manager didn’t believe in me.”

While it is great that Shaw still has a lot of belief, we have been in the market for a new left-back, with Alex Sandro of Juventus being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Shaw is still a player with a lot of potential and if Mourinho can somehow get him to play in the right manner, we might be able to get the best out of the Englishman.

Pre-season will be huge for the 23-year-old and hopefully, he will be able to convince Mourinho for a place in the side.
