French reports suggests PSG are after Man United target in search for a new defender

Danny Rose

French champions Paris Saint-Germain have turned to Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose in their search for a new left-back, according to Le10sport.

The Paris-based club have lost Yuri Berchiche to Athletic Bilbao and following Layvin Kurzawa’s underwhelming season, PSG reportedly want Rose, who is a target for Manchester United.

Rose, 28, lost his place to Ben Davies in Tottenham’s first-team last season and has since been linked with a move away from the club. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly is a big fan of Rose and left-back is an area that needs addressing before the onset of the 2018/19 campaign.

Currently, our club has Ashley Young, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo as options at the left-back position. Young has recently turned 33 while Shaw and Rojo were extremely lacklustre this past season. Hence, United should make a move for Rose.

However, PSG’s interest in the Spurs man will be a concern for Mourinho if he is genuinely interested in the player. But as per Le10sport’s claims, Thomas Tuchel’s PSG are yet to submit a concrete offer to Tottenham, meaning our club still have a chance to swoop in for the English defender.

Rose, who is under contract with Tottenham until 2021 and recently helped England finish fourth at the World Cup final, would be a fantastic addition for United. He is 28, currently playing at the peak of his powers and is a top workhorse.
