Manchester United have to strengthen two key positions ahead of the season, according to former player Ryan Giggs.

While we have been busy in the transfer market, bringing in Diogo Dalot and Fred, the Welsh Wizard was quoted by the Daily Star as saying,

“In midfield I’d like to see – we’ve been saying it for a long time, we thought Pogba would be that attacking midfielder I would like to see.

“They don’t grow on trees unfortunately, a Modric, a Kroos type who can keep the ball. And also I think a centre-half we need.”

The Welshman also named a few greats who have played as central defenders for United with Nemanja Matic, Jaap Stam and Rio Ferdinand doing great work in the past.

Paul Pogba

Giggs was also quick to add that he did not specify who we should target but the Welshman did hit the nail on the head when it comes to the midfield and the defence.

We have been linked with a move for Toby Alderweireld and Clement Lenglet in recent weeks while the midfield is an interesting one as we do need more creativity coming from the middle of the park.

Giggs stated that Pogba is not the player that seems to be doing the job and the players the former United man stated are not easy to find.

Kroos and Modric will not be easy to pry away from Real Madrid either but if anyone can find the right player for the team, it has to be Jose.

So far, we seem to have done decent business and with a couple of months or so before the start of the season, there certainly will be more additions to the squad.
