James Rodriguez is a target for Jose Mourinho ahead of the new season, according to The Mirror. The report claims that the Colombian is ready to quit Bayern Munich as he does not want to make his move to the Bundesliga champions a permanent one.

Mourinho is ready to move for Rodriguez after suggestions that he is not happy with the appointment of Niko Kovac as their new manager. The 26-year-old attacker is willing to turn his back on a €45m permanent deal to keep him at the Allianz Arena.

The Colombian, who is playing in the World Cup, had joined the Bundesliga giants on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid at the start of last season.

Rodriguez struggled to make an impact at Real Madrid after joining the side from Monaco after the 2014 World Cup. With Bayern, the 26-year-old scored 8 goals in all competitions and also provided 13 assists.

The former Monaco man is still one of the brightest players out there and if we can snap him up, it would be a great deal for the club.

Rodriguez can play in a number of positions and will give us an extra edge in the attack. The 26-year-old could be the one missing element in our attack and pairing him with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez would make us one of the most fearsome attacks in the league.

However, the major problem would be negotiating with Real Madrid as they would not like to let one of their players go on the cheap. Hopefully, we can seal the deal for him.
