Real Madrid have offered Cristiano Ronaldo a bumper contract to stay at the La Liga club and not move back to Old Trafford, according to Cadena Cope (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Spanish radio station claim that Ronaldo is ‘determined to leave’ the La Liga giants but Real are doing everything in their powers to keep hold of one of the best players ever to have graced the game.

The report further claims that Ronaldo would earn £28.5m-a-year. His wage would be broken into a £22m basic salary with the remaining amount coming as possible bonuses. However, the Portugal star is looking for a deal reportedly worth a mammoth £64m-a-year.

Real ready to pay the big bucks to keep the star in Spain

Ronaldo had a bit of a slow start to the campaign for Real but he did come good as he finished the season with 43 goals in all competitions.

The Portugal star does not seem to be slowing down despite being 33 years old, so it makes sense to keep the attacker by any means necessary.

Real know it will be tough to find a replacement for Ronaldo, no matter how much they spend, as the attacker has led them to multiple titles since moving to the club in 2009 from United.

It does look tough for us to sign the former United man and even though Ed Woodward might be interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford, we would have to pay a crazy transfer fee for the 33-year-old.

We fans would love to see him back in the Red of United but it might be extremely difficult for the club to negotiate with Real and get them to sell him.
