Man United willing to offer more than Messi’s wages of £500,000-a-week to attract world-class superstar

According to a report by Spanish publication Don Balon (h/t Express), Manchester United are trying to entice PSG superstar Neymar to consider a summer move to Old Trafford.

The talented Brazilian will have a huge role to play in the upcoming World Cup in Russia but it looks like he will have a big decision to make about his future. Jose Mourinho is eyeing a summer overhaul of the team as per Express and he is looking to pay a hefty salary to attract Neymar’s attention.

The report claims Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi earns the highest wages in European football right now. However, Mourinho is reportedly keen to pay Neymar a sum higher than the £500,000 that Messi pockets every week.

Neymar is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in modern-day football. His performances lit up Camp Nou and he has been nothing short of a goalscoring machine for PSG as well.

In 28 appearances across competitions for the French giants, Neymar has managed to score 27 goals and provide 16 assists. These numbers are more than enough to deduce that a player like him could work wonders at revamping our lacklustre attack.

After the recent FA Cup loss to Chelsea, it is clear that United need players who are not afraid to attack. The display was truly shocking as our attackers failed to trouble the Blues’ backline.

If we are to climb out of this slump, we need quality attackers in our squad and surely, a player like Neymar would go a long way in helping us improve our front line.
