Sanchez and Pogba to start – Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United line-up to face Manchester City

Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League

Manchester United will look to delay the inevitable for at least a week when they make the short trip to the Etihad Stadium to face runaway league leaders, Manchester City on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s men are in good form of late, winning the last four games in the Premier League. However, they will look to avoid the dreadful vision of watching their cross-town rivals City clinch the Premier League in front of their eyes as a win on Saturday would be enough for Pep Guardiola’s men to be crowned as champions.

However, City will have a few problems to deal with following their 3-0 humbling at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League. For United, this is a chance to prove their quality.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

No one needs a description of how good David De Gea has been for United. He is one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

Valencia has been one of the most consistent performers for United and certainly will start against City.

Eric Bailly (CB)

Bailly has been United’s most reliable defender when fully fit. The Ivorian brings a lot of stability and much-needed calmness to United’s back-line.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Smalling continues to receive a lot of flak from United fans but the matter of fact is that he has done well lately. Expect him to start at the Etihad.

Ashley Young (LB)

Young has been a player reborn under Mourinho this season. The England international has made the left-back position his own, keeping the likes of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian out.

Ashley Young

Nemanja Matic (CDM)

What a shrewd signing Matic is proving to be for United! The Serbian screens the defence very well, covers a lot of ground and contributes to attacks as well. A definite starter in the Manchester derby.

Paul Pogba (LCM)

Pogba has not been at his best for the last couple months or so but dished out a fabulous display last weekend in the 2-0 victory over Swansea. The Frenchman looked confident, fresh and eager to make a mark. He will need to be at his very best if United are to return home all smiles.

Paul Pogba

Scott McTominay (RCM)

Scott McTominay continues to enjoy a brilliant breakthrough season at United. He is highly trusted by Mourinho, who has not shied away from throwing the young midfielder at the wolves. Expecting the same from the United manager at the weekend.

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

Sanchez has not had an easy start to his life at Old Trafford since joining United from Arsenal in January. But after struggling to make an impact, the Chilean found his feet against Swansea.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

Lingard continues to impress with every passing game. The energy, desire and the intelligence to pick out spaces make him a different player.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

The man is currently scoring goals for fun. Romelu Lukaku has finally found his scoring touch and is simply oozing with confidence. He will be raring to go against City at the weekend.
