(Not Kroos) Manchester United willing to sell Pogba and sign Real Madrid star as replacement

Paul Pogba

The future of Paul Pogba looks murky even though he did a pretty good job in the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday. The French midfielder might not have contributed with a goal but he sure was ecstatic with Jesse Lingard’s winner and celebrated wildly.

The former Juventus man has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford due to his fractious relationship with Jose Mourinho and a report from Spain claims we will be looking to replace the Frenchman with Isco.

Diario Gol (h/t Express) states that we want Isco to join us at Old Trafford and Mourinho is ready to pay double the amount that Manchester City were willing to pay as wages for the Spaniard. The report suggests that Real Madrid want to sign Pogba, with Zidane looking to revamp his squad. Madrid have struggled this season and are set to miss out on the La Liga title as Barcelona are well ahead in the race.

The Spanish giants will be looking to make amends in the Champions League and they already have a 3-1 lead over PSG while we held on for a 0-0 draw away at Sevilla.

Paul Pogba

Losing Pogba would be a huge blow for our side given the money we spent on the 24-year-old but Isco has been in great form for the Spanish side and maybe a swap deal would be the best result for both parties. We do need to add some more creativity to the side and bringing Isco would be a nice option to have.

Sure, the Pogba deal might look bad on the books but if we can fix our side and go on to win trophies, no one will complain.

Moreover, if we are to sign Isco, then we may have to buy a box to box midfielder as well, someone in the mould of Toni Kroos. Since Isco is an attacking midfielder, we cannot use him alongside Matic and so if we are going to let go of Pogba, we’d do well to buy two midfielders, one box to box and one attacking midfielder.
