Real Madrid stopper hoping to move to Manchester United in the summer as a part of a swap deal

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is planning to move to either us or Chelsea during the summer, according to Don Balon. Madrid are likely to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer as they undergo a squad rebuild due to their performances this season. They have been linked with David De Gea as well as Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

If one thing is certain, it looks more likely that Courtois will leave Chelsea than De Gea might leave us. Courtois’ children still live in Madrid and he will surely be wanting to move to Spain in order to be closer to them. Real president Florentino Perez is reportedly not a fan of Navas and is offering to let him leave as part of a swap deal in order to bring in a new goalkeeper to the squad.

Now it appears that the 31-year-old is expecting a loan move to either us or Chelsea as part of a swap deal which will see Madrid bring in a new keeper. It appears that Navas has accepted that his future lies away from Madrid and is not reacting badly to the speculation.

David de Gea

However, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, who could leave the club at the end of the season, could react badly to the news. Zinedine praised the Costa Rican keeper when his club were linked with Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga and said:

“I’ve always got the best players so you can ask any question you like but I’ve got Keylor and, for me, he’s the best. I’m always going to be with Keylor and Kiko [Casilla]. Kepa’s a good goalkeeper, sure. There’s no doubt about that. But he’s not my goalkeeper.

“I’m sticking with Keylor and Kiko. We’ll see what happens when they open the market. We’ll see if any one comes and if they can, they can. But I’ve got Keylor and I’m happy with that.”

I doubt if we’d let go of De Gea for Keylor Navas. David is easily the best goalkeeper in the world right now and it is impossible that Mourinho would allow the Spaniard to leave. Real Madrid can keep dreaming.
