Manchester United are said to be confident of tying down a deal to land Juventus forward Paulo Dybala in the summer transfer window.

Dybala is regarded as an outstanding talent in a Juventus side that has swept it all on the domestic front in recent years, reaching last season’s Champions League final as well.

While the former Palermo attacker has suffered a dip in form this season with Juve, he is still considered as one of the top young attacking players in the world and a potential breaker of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or domination.

Jose Mourinho is looking for a ‘magical’ player to add some creativity to his squad as he pushes for more major honours at Old Trafford after securing the EFL Cup and Europa League last season.

Dybala has been heavily linked with a move to United recently, following a reported tussle with Juventus manager, Max Allegri.

The Daily Star reports that the United manager is convinced that Dybala would be the ‘perfect’ addition to his squad due to his impressive pace, technique and creativity, and is positive that he will land his man ahead of next season.

The 24-year-old joined Juventus from Palermo for £30m in 2015 and helped the Italian giants win three trophies in his first season alongside Paul Pogba.

The pair remains as close friends and the Argentina international admitted last month that Pogba’s move had a negative effect on him.

“Pogba’s departure was a tough hit for me,” Dybala told France Football, as reported by Manchester Evening News.

“He is a friend of mine, we were on very good terms on and off the pitch.”

Mourinho wants significant work to be done on the squad in the upcoming transfer windows and wants the board to cough in more money in order to help the club win more titles.

Speaking on The Transfer Window podcast, journalist Duncan Castles said:

“What does he really want for Christmas? He wants a lot of work on the squad. He wants a change in attitude from the club.

“I think he feels that Manchester United’s board are happy to be back in the Champions League and competing for the title but not committed enough to put all their efforts into actually winning the title in a period in which Manchester City have spent more on wages and their squad than any football club ever has.

“He’s got pretty big demands for Christmas and for the years coming down the line and unless those demands are met, which is still questionable, it’s going to be a story ongoing for the rest of this season and we’ll see what happens next season.”

What do you think? Is it necessary to spend more money?
