Fenerbahce are the latest club to have expressed their interest to sign out-of-favour Manchester United defender Daley Blind in the January transfer window as per various reports across Europe.

The Dutch international has struggled for first-team action at Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United this season with Ashley Young being used extensively at left-back. The likes of Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof have also risen above Blind in the pecking order.

Blind has been out of the first-team picture at Old Trafford lately despite starting the first three matches of the season. This has led to speculation over his future ahead of the January transfer window.

Turkish outlet Fotomac report that Fenerbahce are considering making a bid to sign him when the transfer window opens in January. Fenerbahce have prioritised signing a new full-back in January. The Istanbul giants are currently just one point behind Super Lig leaders Basaksehir.

The report also adds Italian giants Inter Milan have expressed their interest in Blind and are ready to fight it out again in order to lure him to San Siro. With the ex-Ajax defender linked with Inter, Coach Luciano Spalletti did not rule out the transfer but instead chose not to comment on the topic.

“Blind? I talk about my players, because the points we win in the next few matches will be done with them,” Spalletti told reporters, as reported by Fotomac.

“I prefer to talk about my players because it is with them that we will look to be successful.”

Barcelona, however, have reportedly identified the United defender as a possible replacement for Javier Mascherano, with Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba currently struggling with injuries.

It has been suggested that Blind is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of opportunities at Manchester United. The 27-year-old became a key player for Mourinho last season as injuries gripped the United defensive options for large periods of the campaign. His versatility proved fruitful and a consistent level of displays also went down well with the United supporters as the club went on to lift the League Cup and the Europa League.

However, with the current side heavily stacked with centre-backs, Blind knows the left-hand side is his best chance of playing. But Young is currently deemed as the No.1 left full-back and Luke Shaw’s return to fitness means the Dutchman will be sparingly used by Mourinho.

The Netherlands international will be out of contract in the summer and the United manager does not appear keen on offering him an extension.
