Jose Mourinho Prepares Audacious Bid To Sign Chelsea Attacker Who Recently Turned Down £300,000-a-week Deal

Manchester United have been linked with a sensational £90m move for Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard. Jose Mourinho believes he can beat the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit of the Belgium international by offering a British transfer record bid of £90million to Chelsea, as reported by The Sun.

Hazard has been urged by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to sign a new contract with the reigning Premier League champions, but some reports have understood that the Belgian playmaker is unwilling to do so. The 26-year-old has already turned down a new £300,000-a-week deal as he is considering his options.

The Belgian winger still has two-and-a-half years to run his existing deal at Stamford Bridge but a lack of desire to commit his future to the Blues has led to plenty of speculation over where Hazard’s career now lies. It is an open secret that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane likes Hazard and has made him his No.1 target of the summer window. Reports in Spain claim he will join the Spanish giants after next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

It is said that the Frenchman requested the signing of Hazard last summer, only for club president Florentino Perez to decline his request. He was then forced to watch as the forward inspired Chelsea to the league title in Conte’s first season.

Meanwhile, Hazard has been the first to send signals, admitting incredible admiration for Zizou through the English media.

“Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol,” Hazard told Belgian TV channel RTL (h/t Express).

“I do not know what will happen in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.”

However, Mourinho remains confident of blocking Hazard’s move to Real as he sees the Belgian as the missing piece in his Manchester United jigsaw. The United manager wants to reunite with Hazard after the pair worked together at Stamford Bridge and won the Premier League title in the 2014-15 season.

However, let’s not forget that Mourinho and Hazard’s relationship broke down during the former’s final season of his second spell at Chelsea.

While Chelsea board allowed Nemanja Matic join United in summer, it looks highly unlikely to see the same happen with Hazard. Instead, if Hazard is to leave Chelsea next summer, the board would sanction a sale to Real and not to their direct rivals, which makes it difficult for us to acquire the Belgian.
